Test and go live
Test member lookup, sign-up and cross loyalty with test cards before you go live.
Before you test
- You have a test ID Vault, a loyalty type and API keys for test. See Set up ID lookup.
- Your POS can log in to the test terminal, and the terminal is connected to the test environment.
- ID lookup, and enrolment if you use it, is turned on for the test terminal.
- You use test cards only. Never use real cards on a test terminal.
-
SaleID,ServiceIDandTransactionIDare unique. - Card numbers aren't logged unencrypted.
You can add and delete test cards yourself through the API, or ask Aera to do it.

| 2 | Pay with a card not linked to anyone | No member number. POS offers sign-up |
| 3 | Pay with a card that signed up on the terminal but didn't finish | No member number. Temporary identity recognised |
Sign-up
| # | Test | Expected result |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | Sign up with an unknown card: accept the terms, enter the mobile number | Mobile number reaches your loyalty program. Sign-up link sent |
| 5 | Finish the sign-up, then pay again with the same card | Member recognised |
| 6 | Link a new card to an existing member | Next lookup returns the right member. No duplicate member |
| 7 | Decline the terms | No sign-up. Payment still possible |
| 8 | Stop before the mobile number is entered | POS handles the abort. Terminal is free |
Cross loyalty
Ask Aera to turn the partner's program on and off for your test cards.
| # | Test | Expected result |
|---|---|---|
| 9 | Card linked to your program and the partner's | Both programs returned |
| 10 | Card linked only to the partner's program | Only the partner's program returned |
| 11 | Temporary identity, also in the partner's program | Partner's program returned, no own member number |
Errors
Test what the POS does when:
- the mobile number is invalid, or already belongs to another identity
- the card is already linked to this member, or to another one
- the API key is invalid or expired
- Aera ID Services or the terminal doesn't answer in time
- the terminal is disconnected, or busy with another POS
Go live
