Build the checkout

Every online payment follows the same steps, whichever checkout you build.

1. Create a payment session. You get a pspReference. Keep it: every later operation on the payment uses it.
2. The shopper pays on Aera's checkout page, in the embedded form, or directly with the method they chose in your checkout.
3. The shopper returns to your success, cancel or error URL.
4. Confirm the result on your server, with a notification or Get payment status. Never rely only on the return URL.
5. Finish the payment. Capture it when you ship, or cancel it. Refund it later if needed. See Payment lifecycle.
